An important update about group travel assistance

November 21, 2022

Allianz Global Assistance (Allianz), our long-time partner for out-of-province/country travel products and services, has made the decision to transition out of the group travel assistance business in 2023. Allianz Global Assistance is a specialist brand of Allianz Partners, the world’s largest travel insurance and assistance provider, providing services to health insurers (including Green Shield), property and casualty insurers and credit card companies.

The news of this transition is very recent, and we are actively working with the Allianz team to ensure high quality service remains in place for our valued clients and members during the transition.

The important thing to note is that at this time, there is no impact on any group travel plan coverage and it is business as usual.

With Allianz’s decision to transition out of the group travel assistance business, rest assured that we will be bringing you a new long-term solution for group travel products and services. Our team has already been engaging with alternative group travel assistance providers to replace Allianz and we are working through the necessary steps to ensure the transition will be as smooth as possible. We look forward to sharing further details in the coming weeks and months.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to your Account Team if you have any questions.
